This year Luis spoiled me with an unbelievable weekend away! So we packed our bags and made our way to the beautiful Sun City resort in the North West!
Luis and I had both been to Sun City before, but never together and it had been years since the two of us had been there so it was the perfect choice for a weekend away.
It has always been a thing for me, that I dress up on my birthday, it's that one day in the year that I don't care what anyone says about my outfit, as long as I feel good and am happy, this year I went for something casual, flowing and I thought I looked Pretty cute!

We spent the day exploring Sun City, messing around and just having a good time with good laughs, and taking some silly photos in the process!
One of the new additions to Sun City is The Maze of the Lost City, you have to pay to get in, but because we were residents, we were able to go in for free. You first start the maze by crossing this beautiful 'bambo' susbended bridge that leads you to the other side of the mountain, followed by a small hike between the trees and bushes and then to the entrance of the maze!

After going around in circles and walking into a few dead ends, we made our way through the maze. All I can say is we ended up going the wrong way in the beginning and had to make our way back to the start to go the other way which then ended up being super easy (No, I'm not going to tell you which way to go, you'll have to figure that out for yourself ;))
At the end of the maze you get to reward yourself with a locally brewed beer tasting, (don't worry I left that for Luis to do) some fresh pop corn and an amazing sunset view of the Palace and surrounding scenery.
As the sun set we made our way back through the 'chicken route' or shortcut route of the maze to get back to our room and get ready for our romantic dinner for two at the Crystal Court restaurant in the Palace.
Walking into the Palace is an experience on its own, the decor and ambiance is so regal and you have to notice all the little touches to make the most of your visit. The open, floor to ceiling glass doors let in the cool African summer night air, accompanied by a very talented pianist playing a mix of modern and classic melodies into the night.
Our dinner was presented to us as if in the movies, under a silver dome dish with a Protea flower handle.
I should have taken more photos, but I was too busy enjoying where I was. Oops

After dinner, we made our way to the Sun City Casino, to see if I had any birthday luck, so we found a machine and sat there for a good few hours. Unfortunately the little that we did win, we lost anyways, but it was all for the fun of it and a fun way to end off the evening.
The rest of the weekend was just spent relaxing by the pool and soaking up some sun, as well as being big kids in the Entertainment Center, playing games and winning just over 500 prize tickets.
I am so grateful that I have been blessed with such an amazing husband, who spoils me rotten and treats me like a princess. My birthday weekend was one I will always remember and treasure and I'm sure the next time we head off to Sun City again, our little baby boy will be joining us!!! YAY
